August 14, 2015 (1 pm Pacific Daylight Time) Second I WISE webinar – Holistic Education Strand

This webinar will be led by Dr. Glen Aikenhead (Professor Emeritus of University of Saskatchewan, Canada) and Dr VerlieAnn Malina-Wright (Chair of the Pacific American Foundation and former Director of the National Indian Education Association (NIEA). Additional Strand leaders are Amethyst First Rider (University of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada) and Pam Woodis (National Museum of the American Indian). It will explore the possibilities of a holistic education, bringing together the best of Indigenous ways of knowing and learning with western science education practices.

Dr. Aikenhead has written a most interesting paper for I WISE “A Synthesis of Research into Outcomes Arising from Enhancing School Science with Indigenous Understandings.” You can access this paper on the I WISE website, under Suggested Resources.
